
Dr. Amir Alwazzan is a globally recognized energy sector leader and technical authority with more than 36 years of amassed hands-on experience in different segments of the upstream industry. He worked for several E&P operators, service companies, EPCI contractors, academia, and international advisory bodies like Dragon Oil, OneSubsea, Schlumberger, McDermott Subsea, AMEC-Paragon and University of Malaya. Dr. Alwazzan’s career reflects a rare blend of strategic leadership, operational excellence, and deep technical mastery demonstrated in multiple projects across the USA, Canada, the Middle East, Southeast Asia, North & West Africa and the Caspian region.
Dr. Alwazzan has authored / coauthored several technical papers and has been serving as a technical reviewer for three international peer-review journals in the field of Petroleum Engineering, Science and Technology. He also served in various international professional joint ventures, committees and commissions. Dr. Alwazzan is a Chartered Petroleum Engineer certified by the British Engineering Council and a registered European Engineer certified by FEANI (the European Federation of National Engineering Associations). He holds a PhD degree in Transient Multiphase Flow in Pipelines from the University of Malaya, Malaysia and MS and BS degrees in Petroleum Engineering from Baghdad University, Iraq.
